Croeso y Bryn Ffynnon

And a brand new blog for comments, pictures and lots of things about the beautiful part of the world that is North Wales.

The weather up there at the moment is terrible and my heart goes out to those affected by the weather, both in Wales and across the border in England. Let's all hope for a respite soon.

It was wet last week too but North Wales is a strange place and a few miles down the road it was possible to find a break from the rain and even a glimpse of the sun!

Conwy is about 10 miles from the cottage and a pretty run especially if you take the old road from Llanrwst via Trefriw.

And here is the picture of Conwy Castle as proof. This was taken on December 1st during Storm Clodagh. I'm not entirely sure why the Met office have started naming storms but there you go!

Conwy Castle is magnificent - it's run by CADW but English Heritage members can get in free of charge ( or with a 50% discount if it's your first year of membership).

The view from the Castle walls - I think the weather reports had put most people off as we had the place more or less to ourselves but I wasn't complaining.

The view across the river - beautiful

Loads to see in Conwy - you can walk around much of the remaining town  walls and see the town from above. It's also home to the smallest house in Great Britain  Quay House .
